At the end of 2010, I wanted to paint something that was very much from my heart. This painting is looking down into Wenderholm, which is a view that I have been wanting to paint for a very long time. The Tui for me is a spiritual symbol, I love to watch them and hear them sing - I think they are my favourite bird. On the left hand side of this painting there is a woman dancing, she is in the hills and part of the earth - Papatuanuku, a mother earth figure - from whence we all came and will return to.
