This work can simply be seen as a successful day out fishing, and there is so much life in this work. I painted the original painting in 2001 utilising a water colour technique I developed, on paper. Looking at this work now I imagine I was drawn to paint these fish because of their colour, the composition and the light. I also grew up with many boating holidays and love fish for dinner :-)

My eagerness to visit Mimiwhangata, a stunning part of New Zealand’s eastern coastline, came after seeing it in a photograph. Escaping from Auckland on a day trip one Sunday back in 2005, I headed north. After going through Whangarei, I headed towards Helena Bay, gradually drawing closer to Mimiwhangata. Winding down through native bush into grasslands, I was excited to finally see the windswept coastline in the distance. This beautiful view looks down into Wenderholm Park depicting the picturesque Puhoi river surrounded by headlands covered in native forest.

This is print is of a bach on Rangitoto island - lease number 52. Rangitoto island back in the day is remembered as a magical place: "and when the last Blue boat left for the day, the island became the bach holders paradise, many shared BBQs, late night swims and walks. The peace of the island was like no other - star gazing and looking back at the twinkling lights of Auckland. This stunning flower print is an explosion of pure joy, it's bright colours making a gorgeous statement on any wall.

 

 

This print of my painting could be of a seaside view nearly anywhere in New Zealand. It is in fact taken from a photo of Ngunguru while I was there on a lovely sunny holiday with my children. 

The image size of this print measures 400mm x 600mm - a great size work on the wall to draw your eye through into a view of an idyllic NZ summer day.

This limited edition print from my recent work depicts three Nikaus, one with a full load of berries.

Measuring 460 x 510mm (image size) the colours in this work are quite stunning.

This print depicts a red David Brown 990 tractor which has launched a boat off Whangaumu bay on the Tutukaka coast. Whangaumu bay is also known as Wellingtons Bay - a picturesque long, sandy beach - which is lovely for swimming.
